DOGGIE BUS

==============================================
Blabbers:

Coco has left the building as of 1950 last nite. Suddenly Rooney's world became such lonely place again.......she will be missed though. But she might not miss us, judging that she din bother to look at us the moment her foster parents came.....Poor Rooney who had to face so many separations at such young age....

Buses are now every dog's breakfast all thanks to Eedra Zey and her pet border collie, Pema. Read here. They have managed to find a loophole concerning pets on buses. As a pet owner myself, there have been several occasions where the discussion arises as to whether our four-legged pals are allowed on public transport or not. One of my friend had raise this question to the City Rail officers some time ago and it has been understood that trains within NSW does not allow pets on board, with exception to registered guide dogs.
Apparently one section in the State Transit Authority states that pets may be allowed on bus at operator's discretion which involved consideration on the passengers on board, the schedule and if the dog is of good behaviour.

However, to my opinion, the loophole will remain just a loophole. It may work towards not letting dogs on board as well. "At operator's discretion" was stated clearly. A poll conducted by The Daily Telegraph came up with this result so far:

Apparently majority people still prefer not having any furry balls up the bus.....*arghhh* why are there soooo little animal-lovers out there in this big city! And since it's up to the drivers to allow pets on bus, they probably will say a big NO and give crappy excuses of why they had arrive at that particular decision. I'm keen to bring Rooney up the bus for a try. Wonder if I will get rejected or kicked off.....

Regardless, it kinda relief to know that dogs have been given a 'privilege' to ride on bus. At least I don't have to hide Rooney inside my bag whenever I board the bus now. And lucky that our mayor, Clover Moore, is a dog-lover herself! So let's hope this dog on bus thing gets going.

Hey Pup, you are meant to be a passenger, not the driver!
